Meetings

There’s a hot issue where I work. It’s sharing the resources according to the projects. As far as I see it, our group works on a first-come-first-served basis. The booking of the microscopes is done on paper and the usage of the computers is not restricted, so you may have one user (and we had) computing on the 500 cores available at the same time. There are no policies over that, also no quotas. I somehow manage to monitor anyway, but the whole picture is still blurry. How much processing time is each user consuming across time? How many days he booked the microscopes? We have periodically (useless?) meetings to discuss these issues.

I hope one day to be able to answer these questions with one click. This is my bit.
